Nina around the …

15.02.2012

Hey, sorry for not blogging for a while … .-) you know how it is, the work of a real PEZi never ends! But now I’m back to give you an overview and finally start writing again – which never really seems like work. It’s about time I got typing anyway, as there’s lots to report on the ISM, the biggest confectionery trade fair in Germany, which was just under two weeks ago …

Kölle Alaaf – Cologne above all!

You wouldn’t believe all the work that goes into organising such a trade fair … hours of setting up, decorating, running the booth, attending meetings, dismantling the booth – it’s like Groundhog Day! I never thought my feet could hurt so much. After all, they’re masters of sitting not standing!

The trade fair is huge, really impressive and quite challenging – my first trip to the toilet took much longer than expected after getting slightly lost .-)) ssshhh … no one noticed!

In addition to industry experts, confectionery fans flock in their droves to the ISM, especially on the last day. It was such an amazing experience. I kept hearing the same stories over and over again: I have four children, I have two nephews, I have so many grandchildren, they all love PEZ .-) and would be over the moon with … – well, I don’t have any children and I still love PEZ .-) and I’m not afraid to admit it … anyway, I think we managed to find the right PEZ gift for everyone, big and small.

The true shooting star ……

However, the true shooting star was most definitely our new product PEZ Soft: I really don’t know in how many countries we’re going to simultaneously launch our fruit gums, which has got to be the best compliment of all.

We also came 3rd at the Innovation Awards, although I’m sure some trade fair visitors would have given us

1st prize .-)

My next trip

Next I’m off to Copenhagen – not bad, eh? I’m really looking forward to it! Us marketers will be spending even more time in Europe in the months to come and much to my delight – as I’m a huge Nordic fan – I’ve been assigned to countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden. There’s bound to be lots to report from the world of PEZ – so hej hej my friends!
